San Francisco is ready to host the best Spanish women-led startups

  • A new batch of Spanish startups is ready to fly to Silicon Valley for the Desafia San Francisco Immersion Program, in a brand-new edition exclusively dedicated to Spanish technology startups led by women, interested in scaling their business model globally.

  • The companies operate in markets ranging from online education to connected cars, analytics, sexual health, immersive VR, cooking, and software.

  • The list of the admitted companies has been unveiled in Madrid during a dedicated Bootcamp, organized by ICEX and Red.es, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Commerce, Xiana Méndez and the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Carme Artigas. Representatives from the startups will join the Immersion Program in San Francisco from October 30th to November 10th, 2023.



Madrid, October 18 2023 - A new batch of Spanish startups is ready to fly to Silicon Valley for a brand-new edition of Desafia San Francisco Immersion Program, this time exclusively dedicated to Spanish technology startups led by women.


Established by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment (the Government of Spain’s agency for the internationalization of businesses) and Red.es (the Government of Spain’s agency responsible for executing and deploying part of Spain’s Digital Agenda), run by the local partner Mind the Bridge (MTB), the 2023 Fall batch will be hosted in the MTB Innovation Center in San Francisco, South of Market (SOMA), from October 30th to November 10th.


This unique program is a pivotal initiative aimed at immersing entrepreneurs into the Silicon Valley ecosystem, with a dedicated emphasis on bolstering women in entrepreneurship - commented Bobby Amiri, Head of Startup Products and Services at Mind the Bridge - Its primary objectives include equipping participants with the essential experience and knowledge required to effectively expand their business models on a global scale, offering a soft landing into the U.S. market, fostering valuable connections among startups in similar stages of growth by tapping into founders' insights, and nurturing a collaborative community of women in entrepreneurship. Furthermore, it strives to capture the attention of ecosystem stakeholders keen on championing and supporting women's technology entrepreneurship."


The companies admitted to the Fall 2023 edition operate in markets ranging from online education to connected cars to analytics, sexual health, immersive VR, cooking, price monitoring, and software.


The list of the admitted companies was unveiled in Madrid during a dedicated Bootcamp, organized by ICEX and Red.es, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Commerce, Xiana Méndez and the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Carme Artigas.


The first 4, in alphabetical order, are FOUNDERZ EMPRENDIMIENTO S.L., LETMEPARK SL., METRICOOL SOFTWARE SL., and NEW WELLNESS CONCEPT SOCIEDAD LIMITADA.


#1 FOUNDERZ EMPRENDIMIENTO S.L.

MYHIXEL is a men’s sexual health brand that offers innovative solutions based on science and technology to improve men's sexual lives. Scoolinary is an online culinary school with an extensive catalog of on-demand video courses, with the best chefs in the world, that allow learning without time, geographic or economic barriers for professionals and food lovers. The business model is primarily subscription-based.


#7 WORKDECK DIGITAL WORKPLACE S.L..

Workdeck is an enterprise software for Professional Services Automation (PSA). Its flexible multifunctional platform automates and streamlines the core processes and workflows in today’s modern knowledge enterprise, creating a unique and secure environment for the embedding of Agent Based Modelling (ABM) Adaptive Artificial Intelligence capable of extracting insights and predictions from the small and diverse datasets of the business in a closed and private mode, ensuring no enterprise data is used outside the application.



The startups’ representatives (CEOs and/or Founders) will be joining an intensive two-week experience, divided into two distinct yet interconnected blocks.


The first week is all about learning and networking: participants attend training sessions and hands-on workshops led by founders who have achieved international success. The second week shifts its focus to seminars, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and workshops” - added Isabelle Johannessen, who coordinates the program.


They will also have the opportunity to engage with various players in the US technology ecosystem, with a special focus on Silicon Valley. This includes connections with corporations, mentors, and influential figures, particularly those in women-led entrepreneurship. Additionally, participants interact with accomplished entrepreneurs who have thrived in the unique Silicon Valley environment. These last sessions delve into critical aspects of leadership and strategy across various domains, including marketing, finance, investment, business strategies, legal considerations, and talent recruitment.


This collective effort is designed not only to reinforce the sense of community among participants but also to catalyze the creation of networks and relationships that drive business opportunities and collaboration in the long run”, ended Bobby Amiri.
